MarginX

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

This is a short, honest explanation of what personal data MarginX Finance collects, why, and how you stay in control of it.

1. What we collect

In short

Only what's needed to run your account and support you: your name, email and phone number. That's it — no card data, ever.

When you create a MarginX account, we collect and keep exactly three pieces of personal information:

  • Your full name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone number.

We use this solely to run your account, provide customer support, verify your subscription status, and send you important account or security notifications. We also store the tickers and watchlists you save inside the app, so your terminal is there the way you left it.

2. What we deliberately do not collect

In short

We never see, transmit or store your card number, expiry date or security code.

Payment card details are entered directly into Mercado Pago's or PayPal's own secure checkout, never into a MarginX form or database. MarginX only receives a confirmation that a charge succeeded or failed — never the card number, expiry date or security code themselves. See "Payment data" below.

3. Payment data — handled by Mercado Pago and PayPal

In short

Mercado Pago (Chile/LatAm) and PayPal (international) process every charge under their own encrypted, PCI-compliant systems. MarginX has no access to your card data.

Depending on your region, your subscription is billed through Mercado Pago or PayPal. Both are independent, regulated payment providers with their own privacy policies and security certifications (including PCI-DSS, the card industry's own security standard). We encourage you to review their privacy policies directly if you want the full detail of how they individually handle payment data.

4. How we use and protect your data

In short

Your data runs your account and nothing else. We never sell it.

We use your name, email and phone number to operate your account, respond to support requests, and send account-related communications. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We apply industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access) to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss or misuse.

5. Your rights

In short

You can ask us what we hold, correct it, or delete it, at any time.

Consistent with GDPR and similar personal-data-protection laws, you can, at any time and free of charge:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal data.
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential communications.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@marginx.finance. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our systems, except where we are legally required to keep certain records (e.g. billing history) for a limited period.

6. Cookies

In short

We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in and remember your language.

MarginX uses essential cookies to keep your session active and to remember your preferred language. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

In short

We process your data because you asked us to (a contract), or because we have a legitimate reason to.

For users covered by the GDPR or similar laws, we process your name, email and phone under these legal bases: performance of a contract (running your subscription and account), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, account security, service improvement), and, where applicable, your consent (optional communications you can opt out of at any time).

8. International data transfers

In short

Your data may be processed in a different country than where you live, always with appropriate safeguards.

MarginX and its infrastructure providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where that involves a transfer outside your region's legal framework (e.g. out of the European Economic Area), we rely on recognized safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to keep your data protected.

9. Data retention

In short

We keep your data while your account is active, and for a limited time after — not forever.

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data promptly, except for billing records we're legally required to retain for a limited period (typically to meet tax and accounting obligations).

10. Children's privacy

In short

MarginX is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

MarginX is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly — contact support@marginx.finance if you believe this has happened.

11. Security of your information

In short

We work hard to keep your data safe, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is ever 100% secure.

We apply industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, restricted internal access) to protect your personal data. That said, no data transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, can be guaranteed to be completely secure — we cannot promise a security incident will never happen, only that we'll respond responsibly if one does.

In the unlikely event of a security incident that affects your personal data, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law, and without undue delay.

12. Marketing communications

In short

Product and account emails are necessary. Anything optional, you can opt out of anytime.

We send account and billing notifications because they're necessary for the service. Any optional product updates or announcements include an unsubscribe link, and opting out never affects your account or subscription access.

13. Who we share your information with

In short

We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. It only goes to the handful of providers that help us actually run the service.

We share personal data only in these limited cases:

  • Payment processors — Mercado Pago or PayPal receive what they need to bill your subscription (see "Payment data" above); they never receive your card number from us because we never have it.
  • Infrastructure and service providers — hosting, email delivery and similar providers that operate the terminal on our behalf, bound to use your data only to provide that service to us.
  • Legal requirements — when required to comply with applicable law, a court order, or a valid request from a public authority.
  • Business transfers — if MarginX is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections described in this Policy.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers or other third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we do not sell it — that has never changed and never will.

14. Changes to this policy

In short

We may update this policy. Meaningful changes are announced in advance.

If we make a material change to how we handle your personal data, we will notify active users by email or in-app notice before it takes effect.
